I was going with Teena, an Australian girl and travelled to Sydney, Melbourne, Queensland and her home town of Moranbah, a mining town 190kn west of MacKay. Her father worked at the Peak Downs mining operation and on a tour of the mines was most impressed with the size of the 97m long draglines which harvest coal.
I have travelled to Adelaide, visited the victorian square, travelled on a tram-car and visited Australia’s oldest German settlement, Hahndorf. Or take riverboat cruise down the Murray river.
I tasted the wines of the Barossa Valley and swam in the Great Barrier Reef. Even went pig hunting with dogs and knives and that was truly knackering.
Sydney in New South Wales, is a beautiful city. The opera house is certainly worth a visit. Situated on Bennelong point, the design was created by a Jern Utzon who won a design competition. Construction began in 1959 and opened in 1973. Go to Manly where the Oceanworld is certainly worth a visit. Go by ferry from Circular Quay.
